How much is the UAE overstay fine per day?
The ICP standardised visa overstay fines at AED 50 per day from 11 February 2026 — the same rate for tourist, visit and residence visas, replacing the earlier variable rates.
Is there a grace period?
A residence visa commonly carries a 30-day grace period, and published sources give other windows for some categories — longer for golden and green visa holders. Because it varies, treat the expiry date itself as the deadline.
Who pays the fine for an employee?
In practice the employer carries the cost and the disruption, because the renewal, the work permit and the medical are all filed by the company.
